Donald Trump Jr. has hit back at grunge legends Pearl Jam, calling their recent concert poster “disgusting”.

Last month, we noted how Pearl Jam’s recent show in Missoula, Montana on August 13th featured a poster which was deemed to be rather controversial.

Never ones to shy away from their outspoken political views, the poster depicted the White House in flames, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial cracked and broken, and the skeletal body of Donald Trump, which is being picked over by a bald eagle.

The poster’s message was also incredibly clear, with flames spelling out the word ‘vote’, while also including images of other US senators, including Jon Tester and Republican challenger Matt Rosendale.

While many fans raised concerns about just what Pearl Jam were trying to accomplish and say with this poster, others – including a spokesperson for Rosendale – were a little bit more vocal about the band’s politics.

“The depiction of the skeletal remains of President Trump and a burning White House is reprehensible and shows just how completely unhinged and radicalized the far-left has become,” a spokesperson for Rosendale explained.

“This poster from Pearl Jam is disgusting and reprehensible,” he continued on Twitter. “It depicts a dead President Trump and a burning White House. It’s time for [Jon Tester] to denounce this act of violence and blatant display of extremism!”

Pearl Jam soon responded to the criticism of their poster, with bassist Jeff Ament – who was responsible for the poster’s design alongside artist ‘Bobby Draws Skullz’ – hitting back at their critics in a recent interview.

“The role of artists is to make people think and feel, and the current administration has us thinking and feeling,” Ament explained to Rolling Stone. “I was the sole conceptualist of this poster, and I welcome all interpretations and discourse. Love, from the First Amendment, Jeff Ament.”

Now, Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., has also hit back at the band, explaining to KGVO that he believes Americans would have been outraged if the same thing had been done to Barrack Obama.

“I think it is disgusting,” Trump Jr. explained. “I think if the reasonable people of the state of Montana saw that happen during the Obama administration and someone of that sort of notoriety, I am not talking about some crazy person that does something negative because you are going to see that on both sides no matter what, but if someone of that notoriety did that about Obama there would be outrage everywhere.”

“The media would cover it this way and the liberal elite would go crazy. You do it about Donald Trump and it is crickets.”

“We are doing a great job,” Trump Jr. continued when speaking about his father’s administration. “My father is crushing it when it comes to these things [the economy] and all these guys want to do is block all of that.”

The big thing right now obviously is the Supreme Court,’ he continued. “Jon Tester said that he was having a meeting scheduled with the White House regarding the nominee and then he cancelled the meeting saying he had other stuff and there was no other meeting scheduled.”

“It is just a lie, it is all games and it is all politics. I think the people of this country are sick of it and I think especially the people of Montana.”

While Donald Trump himself is yet to make any comment in regards to Pearl Jam’s now-infamous poster (or their Trump-inspired single, ‘Can’t Deny Me’), we think we’ve got a pretty solid idea of the choice words he might be directing towards the members of the band.

This is not a new thing for Pearl Jam. They have always had very politically charged concert posters. Google Brad Klausen’s work to see some amazing ones.
