Holy shit.. I had no idea. This is incredible work, the thought that the backgrounds in these scenes was artificial never crossed my mind.

Wow.. the landscape shots from the "Cradle" (Antennae) scene at the end of the movie was a miniature as well.. That entire lake / forest / Antennae . Incredible.
