Mexico's foreign minister denied Tuesday that his country would pay for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, after President Donald Trump once again told reporters it would happen.
Trump, speaking just a day after touting a new trade agreement with Mexico, told reporters following a meeting with Gianni Infantino, president of the international soccer governing body FIFA, that Mexico will "easily" pay for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
"It will ultimately be paid for by Mexico," Trump said.
Trump, who has taken a hard stance on immigration, has called for a border wall since early in his presidential campaign. He said Mexico would pay for it, which Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has denied.
"We just reached a trade understanding with the US, and the outlook for the relationship between our two countries is very positive. We will NEVER pay for a wall, however," Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray Caso tweeted Tuesday afternoon. "That has been absolutely clear from the very beginning."
Trump has asked Congress for $25 billion to be allocated to building a wall. Currently, the Senate is angling to give Trump $1.6 billion for the wall.

So lemme see if I get this: not a day after saying it made a new trade agreement (seemingly to snub Canada), Trump is now saying Mexico will pay for the wall, which they won't. I wonder how long before Trump throws the new deal off the table just to snub Mexico, and we're back to Square Zero?

Imagine, there are people out there who actually believe that Mexico will pay for Trump's idiot wall.
