ULPT: A strong enough magnet will remove most of those types of sensors.

My aunt works for Nike, I get lots of free clothes and shoes from her, often when there is surplus and companies do giveaways, these aren’t often removed from large giveaway boxes. Not saying girl in pic didn’t rip those off, but it’s far from a guarantee that she did.

I had to drive 45 minutes back to a Nautica outlet because they did this to me with a pair of jeans. The alarm went off as I came into the store and I got accused of trying to steal them initially.

Gee gosh, why would anyone not want to go back to get it removed?

edit: yes, I had a receipt and even kept it in the same bag they gave me. The accusation of stealing was more of a loaded question by the person behind the counter, like "You understand anyone can claim this?". As to whether the alarm went off when I first left, I think I would have noticed that.
