The cameras are nearly ready to roll on Michael Bay's new, Netflix-backed action movie Six Underground, and the casting is coming together. Mélanie Laurent is the latest recruit.

Ryan Reynolds is starring in the movie, which sees him as the leader of a squad that battles evil, with the team comprising four men and two women. The idea comes from Reynolds' Deadpool collaborators, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and the tone is described as the R-rated superhero action-comedy meets Mission: Impossible.

Laurent joins a cast that also already includes Dave Franco, Corey Hawkins, Adria Arjona, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy and Lior Raz, with Bay kicking off work later this month, and will be out next year on the streaming service. As for Laurent's next role, she'll be seen in Operation Finale, due out on 14 September.
