This is how people are—you have to deal with this in every industry. I sold cars for a while. People thought all weather floor mats grew on trees. Or they’d ask to test drive 5 different cars after making it clear they were just killing time and not in the market to buy anything. “Just pull up one of everything and we’ll decide which ones we want to drive.”

I mowed and did landscaping for a while. People would ask me to weed their property “while I was out there.” I’d give them a price and they’d act stunned. “But you’re already here?”

I painted for a while. Same thing. “Oh, since you’re here painting that room, can you just touch up the hallway and bathroom? It’s the same color” or “can you just do one wall so I can see if I like it?”

It doesn’t matter what the job is or if you call them clients/customers/consumers whatever you want to call them. From fast-food to sales to content production, the worst part about every job I’ve ever had was the god damn people I had to deal with.

Edit: clarified that I meant all weather mats. Thought that would be assumed.

This type of behavior right here is why my tattoo artists have always required a deposit. If you decide to turn back on the tattoo that they spent time drawing, they get some money’s worth.

He was probably planning on using your logos after "passing" on them, and making a few shitty adjustments in Photoshop. If Reddit has taught me anything, it's that people feel free to steal from graphic designers.
