I'm a pharmacy tech at CVS, and I see this all the time. Anytime someone is paying out of pocket, I use GoodRx or a discount card that CVS gave us, but if it's insulin I don't even try it, I just tell them to go to Walmart. Diabetes supplies are typically cheapest at at places where pharmacy isn't their main game because they don't have to turn as much of a profit from the pharmacy. CVS and Walgreens are going to be pricy without insurance, but Walmart, Sams Club, Costco, etc are all going to be much more affordable.

Medical bankruptcy is the number one cause of bankruptcy how in the fuck can people live with themselves when over 30 million people are uninsured and 45,000 of them die every single year. Every other developed nation have one form or another of socialized medicine AND IT WORKS FAR BETTER. This shit makes my blood boil theres stacks of evidence of a better system.

I had a fucking blood test cost that much last week. My insurance covered $100. I still owe $600. If I had known it would cost that much I would have refused it. Healthcare is the only industry where we don't know what we are buying until we bought it.
