He was off by only 10% because he made assumptions that threw the numbers off. When they retried the same experiment with all the facts in 2012, the numbers they got back were only .15% off the currently accepted polar circumference.

Eratosthenes was a Greek that lived in 200BC, not 3700BC. That would be 1000 years before the great pyramids were completed.
