I hope this gets seen instead of the rabid nationalistic fighting that will for sure happen in the comments. When you read what happened at Srebrenica remember how ethnic nationalism can turn you into an animal. Remember that it can also happen in your country, as it did in the past. Luckily ethnic nationalism isn’t genetic, it’s cultural. The German citizens looked at their history and even though they are 100% not guilty for their father’s sins they accepted it happened and made all the measures that it will never happen again. The fact that Germany did this gives me hope that the Balkans and especially my people and homeland (Serbs and Serbia) can do the same. We are not at fault for Srebrenica as individuals (except the perpetrators) but we should do everything to make sure it never happens again.

Edit: I’m so happy people get to see this, fellow Serbs here yes I know we had horrible stuff happen to us as well in the war but let’s make this about Srebrenica. I promise if we accept Srebrenica and show remorse/swallow our pride the others will do the same.

Always kills me that events like this are remembered/condemned, yet they continue to happen. Not enough people know about Srebrenicia, and similar atrocities
