Our headlines when Germany got knocked out were mean-spirited, and we're being politely schooled in good sportsmanship from a country that has really worked hard for 70+ years to put "don't be a dick" front & center of their national identity.

The Germans in our hotel in Italy all said congratulations (as did the Italians), not a bitter word spoken. Fair play to them.
