In my earlier public school years I used the vinyl covers that stuck on to the book but you had to trim and fold the edges. Then those elastic ones came out and saved everyone some time.
In catholic grade school, I don’t recall ever actually seeing the textbooks’ actual cover. When I went to public school, uncovered books seemed like anarchy. Ha ha ha

My goddaughters have no physical books at all; it’s all by iPad. The youngest one is only 10.
