People like to talk about these things the same way people like to think if they kept their 1000 BTC when it was only $0.08. Like, yeah, it could have been very lucrative but in reality, Yahoo would have fucked up Google like they did almost all their other subsidiaries and they probably wouldn't even be around today.

In Yahoo's defense, I doubt a Yahoo bought Google would become as successful as the Google we know in our timeline.
