Similar thing in Quebec (with Vidéotron) and Manitoba (with MTS even though it’s owned by bell). I ended up resorting to getting a Manitoba Fido number because it’s 45% of the the Ontario price for the same plan.

This isn't just a Telus feature either. Rogers and Bell do the same thing. They're all terrible. CRTC is so spineless, I wish they'd step in.

Sasktel is the last bulwark of Canadians being completely fucked by telecoms. Never sell it. It takes no public money and actually makes a profit for the gov.
