I thought I lost my wallet somewhere while on vacation, but a very kind soul sent it back to my home address with every last bit of cash left in it. i was surprised to see it come back, nonetheless with everything in it. Kind people really do exist.

That’s pretty awesome, was there a return address on it? Did you get the chance to thank them?

I actually lost my wallet in a Walmart with my rental deposit and first month's rent in it. After looking for it for almost an hour (leaving and returning to the store), I went to customer service and it was there with everything still in it. I will never forget that day!

I live in New Orleans, and this reminds me of a few years when I was out in the Quarter with some friends and I found a DSLR sitting unattended on a stoop a block off Bourbon Street. I waited at the stoop for five or ten minutes to see if anyone was going to come back, and no one did. Any longer and someone would have swiped it, so I carried it with me the rest of the night.

The next few days I studied the photos, which were innocuous pre-wedding and wedding events from the past few days, to see if I could get some clues. I finally recognized a place where the rehearsal dinner took place and called the restaurant, which got me in touch with the event planner who I met up with and returned the camera to the owners.

A few weeks later, I got a nice, new Fossil watch in the mail from the happy newlyweds with a thank you note. It was enough to know the camera got back to the owners. An all-around wholesome experience.
