"Yes, we’re aware of the complete irony of the title. But deaf people cannot hear! Har har, very funny and how original." is the first line of the article

According to the article it's :

Getting asked if they read braille.

Over exaggerating words which actually makes it harder to lip read.

Being told 'I'll pray for you'

Asking to teach a dirty sign.

Being told they were the inspiration for said person learning sign.

Being told they talk funny.

Yes they can drive cars.

Trying to hook them up with other deafies.

Being amazed at their ability to lipread and constantly commenting on it.

'sign language is so beautiful'

'I would hate being deaf'

'is rather be blind than deaf'

'how do you live without music'

'can you read and write?'

I am an interpreter and is say most of these are commonly irritating to the Deaf community. I've never encountered anyone that asked if they could read or write though.
