I was told I should post this here. I took BLS last month because I’m starting nursing school in the fall. I did CPR on a lady who was involved in an accident I witnessed. She was still without a pulse when paramedics arrived but I found out SHE LIVED and I have literally cried ever since!

I’m a real paramedic from New York. I came here to call bullshit. This would never happen and not only is this wildly unprofessional but also illegal. This is a massive HIPAA violation and is a federal offense. Not sure why a paramedic would be texting a bystander or be waiting around to take down the idiots phone number

. Cross posted to R/EMS and everyone else is calling this bullshit as well. OP is a phony.

Edit: words

If this is real that is the worst medic ever. If you're a nursing student well done, I'm a medic who's had to do CPR off-shift when I wasn't expecting to have to put my medic hat on. I know it can be a lot.

That being said, this is very very unprofessional of the paramedic who responded on several levels. And in your budding career in medicine I wouldn't make a habit of sharing your success or failures online. The cringe any self-respecting medic gets when they see a "thank you for your service" fishing Facebook post is real
