Squirrels don't usually have rabies. And the ER usually doesn't start the rabies series for squirrel bites unless there have been cases in the area. He's probably fine. I was bitten last year and lost my mind. I ended up contacting an ER nurse that runs a squirrel rehabilitation center as well as a blog. They told me to stop putting my hands near squirrels unless I knew what I was doing because squirrels have bad eyes and will bite on accident. I'm not saying don't go to get the bite looked at, infections and stuff CAN happen, I'm just saying don't freak out.

Edit: Let a doctor make that rabies shot call.

Getting bitten hard by a rodent sucks balls. They have friggin long front teeth. My hamster as a kid bit my finger practically to the bone and hung on while i whipped that little bastard around in the air like he was on fire. Scarred me for life, clearly...im in my late 30s. This story overall isnt really that interesting in hindsight. Oh well.
