Police are still actively searching for the man accused of killing four people and injuring four others in a mass shooting at a Waffle House in Antioch early Sunday morning.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, suspected gunman 29-year-old Travis Reinking arrived at the Waffle House on Murfreesboro Pike at 3:19 a.m. He reportedly sat in his pickup truck for three to four minutes before getting out with his AR-15 rifle.

Police said Reinking shot at two people standing outside of the restaurant and then went inside and continued shooting.

The victims killed in the attack have been identified by police as the following:

Taurean Sanderlin, 29, of Goodlettsville - Employee of Waffle House who was shot outside the restaurant

Joe Perez, 20, of Nashville - Restaurant patron who was shot outside the restaurant

21-year-old woman from Gallatin whose family has not yet been notified

Akilah Dasilva, 23, of Antioch - Restaurant patron who was shot inside the restaurant and later died at Vanderbilt

Police said two victims remain hospitalized at Vanderbilt. They have been identified as 21-year-old Shanita Waggoner and 24-year-old Sharita Henderson. One of them is in critical condition. The other is in critical but stable condition.

Two other victims were taken to TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, including 29-year-old James Shaw Jr., who stopped the shooting. They have since been treated and released.

Police said Shaw saved many lives when he saw the suspect wrestling with the gun and interfered with him, taking it from the suspect and tossing it behind the counter. Police department spokesman Don Aaron says Shaw's actions were similar those of Robert Engle during the Antioch church shooting last year. Click here to watch News4's interview with Shaw.

After this, police say Reinking fled the restaurant, shedding his jacket on a nearby street corner. The jacket was recovered by police and officials said it contained ammunition.

Reinking then went to his apartment, which is nearby at the Discovery at Mountain View apartment complex. Police said Reinking stopped there to put on some clothes.

A neighbor who knows Reinking spotted him walking in a wooded area near the apartment complex, wearing black pants and no shirt or shoes. K-9 officers last caught his scent near the TVA lines off Murfreesboro Pike.

A SWAT team surrounded the area around Reinking's apartment for several hours but left after determining he was not there. Sometime around 11 a.m., officers deployed a flash-bang grenade outside the door of his apartment. Around 12:30 p.m., the SWAT team left the scene.

Reinking has been added to the TBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List. He is 6'4", weighs 180 pounds and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Reinking or knows of his whereabouts is urged to call the 911, the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600, Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or their local law enforcement agency.

Neighbors in the area are on high alert. The residents who live next to Reinking were evacuated.

"Most people don’t think it could happen to or around them this close, but here I am experiencing this same thing now. I’m just being vigilant, keeping an eye out with all the things that are posted online and the updates," said neighbor Matthew Gary.

At this time, police say they believe the shooting was random.

Reinking is believed to have moved from Illinois to Nashville in the fall of 2017. He worked in the crane and construction industry. Police confirmed he was fired from his job three weeks ago and had started a new job on Monday but did not return to work Tuesday.

Officials say Reinking is known to both federal and state law enforcement in Illinois due to previous incidents.

Reinking was arrested by the U.S. Secret Service for being in a restricted area near the White House in July 2017 but was later released. He was interviewed by authorities in Illinois and the FBI, which is when his Illinois firearms authorization was revoked.

Four of his weapons were seized by authorities in Illinois. Police said they have learned the guns were returned to Reinking's father, who acknowledged giving them back to his son. One of those weapons was the AR-15 police said was used during the Waffle House shooting. Two of those weapons remain unaccounted for, but one of the weapons was found inside his apartment on Sunday.

Gov. Bill Haslam issued this statement:

"Crissy and I are deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Antioch early this morning, and we mourn the lives taken in this senseless act of violence. I encourage everyone in the Antioch area to take safety precautions as Metro Police continue to search for the suspect."

After the shooting, Mayor David Briley released this statement:

“It’s a tragic day for our city anytime people lose their lives at the hands of a gunman. My heart goes out to the families and friends of every person who was killed or wounded in this morning’s shooting. I know all of their lives will be forever changed by this devastating crime." "There's clearly more to be said about these circumstances, but for now I ask Nashville to pray for and rally around these victims and join me in thanking the Metro Nashville Police Department as it works to find and apprehend the shooter.”

Statement from Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall:

Words can’t begin to express my sadness when hearing the news impacting Antioch today. My thoughts & prayers - as well as those from our @NashSheriff family - go to friends & family who lost loved ones. We also pray for those injured in this senseless tragedy.

"This is a very sad day for the Waffle House family. We ask for everyone to keep the victims and their families in their thoughts and prayers."

U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper, D-Nashville, released this statement:

“Nashville woke up to devastating news. We mourn the innocent victims and thank our brave first responders. Many will say now is not the time to discuss change. But now IS the time. We can and must do everything possible to prevent these tragedies and keep Americans safe. That starts with restricting widespread civilian access to military-grade assault weapons.”

Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords from Arizona, who was shot at a campaign event in , also released a lengthy statement on Twitter: "My deepest sympathies go out to the victims of Waffle House mass shooting and all the members of the Nashville community. America too often distinguishes itself in response to tragedy – honoring the victims, supporting the survivors, even rushing a shooter and saving lives. And too often we fail to do what we can to prevent these shootings from happening in the first place. But the past two months we have seen America rise in response to the gun violence crisis... We marched in the streets, we passed laws that have likely already saved lives, and we have demonstrated unprecedented resolve to vote out the politicians that have for too long put special interests above our safety. Our hearts are heavy, but we are focused on change."

This is weird as fuck... right?

For those not grasping, this guy walked into a Waffle House at 330am without pants and killed four people.

He got away from the scene, put on pants and sounds like he hopped a train since dogs lost his scent at the tracks.

Thank God for heroes like that. He probably saved some lives while risking his own doing that.

Edit: A Redditor responded with a picture, here's James Shaw Jr in the hospital, today's hero! https://imgur.com/73s7oNm He got hurt but looks like he'll be okay. He's cute too! (Just sayin' ;) I'm a woman, couldn't resist. )

This is right down the road from my house. This Waffle House is only 1.9 mi from the Antioch Church shooting from last year. This is fucking crazy.

Update: Now saying 3 dead. https://twitter.com/MNPDNashville/status/988000352741003264?s=19
