Anyone know what the emblem on his helmet is?

I inherited a bayonet of very similar length and size from my dad, who inherited it from his dad after he passed in the Navy in 1957, who (we're not sure) might have inherited from my great grandfather after serving in WW1 (Army). Could anyone tell from this photo and the markings on the blade when it might have been manufactured, where, etc? edit: a quick google makes it look like the bayonet is indeed British, I just don't know exactly what the markings mean.
