The silent world of A Quiet Place was made more authentic thanks to a smart casting choice by director John Krasinksi.

Wonderstruck actress Millicent Simmonds delivers a powerful performance as part of a family trying to survive in utter silence.

“We always had a deaf character in the script, but John really pushed for them to hire Millicent," says screenwriter Scott Beck.

Beck penned the script with longtime friend Bryan Woods, and the duo share a credit with Krasinksi.

We were making microbuget films and studying film history,” recalls Woods, who has been best friends with Beck since sixth grade.

A Quiet Place centers on the Abbott family as they live in silence due to an invasion of blind, sound-hunting monsters.

Krasinski and his real-life wife Emily Blunt play parents to two young children: a fearful son with emotional issues (Noah Jupe) and a frustrated, deaf daughter (Simmonds). »

Should that continue, the top 1% would hold wealth equating to $305tn (£216.5tn) – up from $140tn today.

Analysts suggest wealth has become concentrated at the top because of recent income inequality, higher rates of saving among the wealthy, and the accumulation of assets.

Facebook Twitter Pinterest Actor Michael Sheen, who is campaigning against high-interest lenders, supports the calls to rebalance global inequality. »

"It was sort of discovered by accident," said Jamie Dunning, the ornithologist who first saw the beaks light up.

So one January day, while having a "troubling" time in the lab, he threw off the lights and shone a UV light on a puffin carcass.

He'll be publishing a paper about puffin fluorescence with colleagues at the University of New Brunswick, and expects more research will follow. »

The Future of Jobs: Working on Being Human

For instance, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos and Damie James are already on a joint venture to reinvent healthcare.

It is becoming normal to talk about robots replacing human labor, but we still have not yet acknowledged the magnitude of this change.

They will be busy “being human,” which means developing themselves, their families, their societies and all that makes us human rather than robots. »
