This is such bullshit. I'm a new teacher in SoCal. I make a teacher salary and I make more than enough money to survive.
Except... I'm single, have no kids, no friends, live in a 2 bedroom apartment in the ghetto with a roommate, have severe depression from the multitude of issues in my childhood and adolescence that ruined me while never being able to afford mental health services, and now I don't ever go out or do anything at all so I don't spend any money.

It's sad because teachers are paid terribly but that's not even the point of the protests, they're after embezzled funds
