“My piece has everything to do with spreading the message that education has become vital to our survival as humans. The fact that there are people who choose to ignore melting ice caps, wilting populations and violent natural disasters is alarming to say the least. With any issue i believe developing a foundation in education will greatly improve our understanding of the detrimental effects we’re having on the earth and ourselves. Genuine worry for our future and worry for our planet is warranted. The longer we wait to acknowledge the changing climate the less time we have to debate with one another about it. There’s no excuse for denying facts other than a poor education. Climate change should be our ultimate concern at this point if we plan on recovering what we’ve already lost.” – Gabriela Chavez (Written for this piece specifically)

Ps: Gabriela is a senior who goes to my school and is currently in the School for the Creative and Performing Arts program. I saw this up in a wall on our learning lab and thought i’d share it with Reddit. I’ve never met her but i’ll see if i can get in contact with her to show her that there’s more love her piece of art received other than the school’s.

Thank you for all your nice comments and support. <3
