People are saying it might not be a good idea to have an R-Rated movie character meet the kid, but since the character is specifically Deadpool and that character's got specific history with being a character dying children maybe find inspiration in (especially ones with cancer)... why not Deadpool? Even if it wasn't Ryan Reynolds, actor and portrayer of Deadpool, it's a person wanting to make a dying child kid feel joy in their last days. That's nice.

The funny thing he is not lying. Deadpool is apart of the Avengers in the comics and appointed by Cap himself.
