This be a single shot taken at Spruce Knob, WV. Home to the darkest mountain summit on the East Coast, Spruce Knob is a haven for the dark sky enthusiast. I usually spend all night here observing and capturing our universe. It is a great spot for camping and hiking alike. If you are in there area and have some time to meander up a mountain, check it on out!

No, this not what you can see exactly with the naked eye. The Milky Way is far more detailed and saturated in camera than in-human. Heh. Heh. This is because the eye only captures a nanosecond of light at a time, while the camera can hold the shutter open to allow more light to gather on the sensor.

Taken with the Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 24-70 f/2.8L. One shot at 20 seconds, f/2.8, ISO 6400, 24mm taken back in 2015.

Spruce knob, the dolly sods, and the canaan valley area are great. I go there every year with my family.
