This logo has been popping up since I joined reddit back in 2008... The consensus overall seems to be that it's likely a mock brand for which the designer realized her could make what looks like a spartan with their silhouette of a golfer swinging, then came up with the name for the brand.
It's a cynical take, but it's what I suspect as well. There's seemingly no existing gold resort/club with a matching brand out there, but a million and a half articles and threads on different social media sites praising what a great logo it is.
