If you watch the documentary on next day shipping it will explain about the location of the shipping hubs. I didn’t understand why packages did this until I saw the movie. I forgot where I saw it or I would link for you but I know it was on reddit!
Louisville is home to the UPS WorldHub. Almost every UPS package first goes to Louisville. I see your point and all, but as someone who lives in Louisville and half my friends have been UPS employees at some point, this makes sense.
