To be fair, there's a big number of edge users out there and they will probably have android phones. They might want to use edge on android to get their browser history, bookmarks, and so on synced.
I will never understand why on earth Microsoft settled for that logo. If you're trying to get away from the horrid legacy of Internet Explorer, why the hell would you use a logo that looks like a knockoff of it?

AFAIK it's just a 'fancy' wrapper from chrome(android) and safari(ios)
