I live near Atlantic City, so I know a lot of people who work in the casino industry. They all have hilarious stories about celebrities and their out-on-the-town exploits, usually they involve some B-list celeb doing something dumb in a drunken stupor. These stories can be funny or interesting, but they're never anything groundbreaking.

Things always step up when you hit America's real gaming mecca, though. Rich Strafella, a VP and long-time gaming exec at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, was recently asked by UrbanDaddy.com to share his favorite celebrity story.

"I remember a night when Wayne Gretzky insulted Michael Jordan at the table. It was a private salon game. Michael had ordered a drink from the cocktail waitress, and he gave her a five-dollar chip. Wayne took it off the cocktail waitress's tray, gave it back to Michael, grabbed a hundred-dollar chip from Michael's stack and put it on the cocktail waitress's tray. Then he said, "That's how we tip in Las Vegas, Michael."

Wayne Gretzky is an unbelievable man.

Back in 1996, I believe it was, the World Cup of Hockey was going on & one of the games was in Vancouver. Amazingly, my dad was able to get tickets & he took me to the game.

After the game I went to the exit where the players came out & entered their team bus. There were tons of people & everyone was looking for an autograph. I managed to snag a bunch of them, including getting Gretzky's himself (still have the card) which was a dream come true for me. However, Messier (I still hate him for coming to the Canucks) was an asshole & just went straight on to the bus ignoring everyone. For whatever reason, I guess Wayne saw me asking him for an autograph & watched Messier walk on the bus. He came up to me, grabbed me by the arm & walked me on to the bus & made him sign my card. It's something that I will never forget & endeared him to me even more so that day.

Charles Barkley told a story about Michael Jordan in front of him. Charles was going to give a homeless man 5 dollars and Jordan stopped him. Jordan said in front of them, "if he can take the time to say," can you spare a dollar", he can spend the time to say, "welcome to McDonald's, can I take your order"".

I drove on Wayne Gretzky highway in Canada. No potholes anywhere. Thanks Wayne.
