Well damn, i'll help your 6 year old son. Tell him to follow these steps.
Make sure your son has beaten all 4 of the divine beasts before facing Ganon (each divine beast beaten removes an entire fight prior to facing Ganon as the final boss)
Tell your son to go to Faron Tower in the south and once there search in the trees for "Hearty Durians"
Next have him cook each Durian on its own to create a meal (cooking meals can be done on a fire with a cauldron over it easily found at any horse stable) , each meal is a full heal + 5 bonus hearts, repeat step 2 and 3 until your son has a inventory full of meals.
Next have your son go to Kakariko village, in the surrounding area around the village is a great fairy fountain (if he hasn't opened it yet it looks like a large plant and he'll have to pay rupees to open it up), once its open tell him to fast travel somewhere else and then come back to the fairy fountain... when he returns there is a chance little pink fairies will be flying around near the fountain and he needs to try to catch them. (each fairy caught gives Link an "extra life" instead of dying should Ganon one shot him, try to get 5+ if possible)
After completing all prior steps tell your son to make sure he is fully stocked for shields and strong weapons... Now your Son is ready to beat Ganon and as long as he tops off his health every time he's hit he will have PLENTY of time to kill him, in fact it will be HARD to lose to Ganon if he's been playing the game regularly.

Adorable. Props to you son for having a real persons soul instead of the undersized lump of charcoal I now possess
