Missing 30 years of job experience, skill development, education opportunities, connections he could have made, and so much more. Stack on any of the common mental health issues people have coming out of prison (depression, ptsd). How can someone succeed and live a fulfilling life after that? What a broken system to wrong a man so badly, then not help him when they find out it was a mistake.

He spent 31 years in jail and only asked for 1 million dollars in compensation for his wrongful sentence and punishment. They locked him up for 31 years, refused to exonerate him upon release, and then insulted him by giving him a check for 75 dollars which he couldn't even cash for 3 months because he did not have ID. This legal system really sucks ass

FYI, this article is from 2016. He has since been fully exonerated with support from the Governor of Tennessee and is now seeking $1 million. Updated story here
