It nearly happened, Usain Bolt revealed to Dan Patrick this morning.

Bolt did not identify which teams, but said that he had been contacted about the possibility of playing wide receiver in the NFL.

“I’ve never really thought about going,” Bolt said, “but I’ve gotten offers and people have asked me.”.

Bolt prefers sprinting because it is non-contact, with the exception of a rare Segway accident.

Most notably, 1964 Olympic 100m champion “Bullet Bob” Hayes went on to win a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys.

Bolt’s biggest sprinting rival, 2004 Olympic 100m champion Justin Gatlin, did answer the call when contacted by the NFL.

But Gatlin wonders if he would have had more success at safety, the position he preferred in high school. »

Iran frees woman who took off headscarf - lawyer

An Iranian woman detained after defiantly taking off her headscarf and holding it on a stick in Tehran has been freed, a human rights lawyer says.

The woman - whose name remains unknown - became the face of protests in the country in December, and images of her were widely shared on social media.

Since the Iranian revolution in 1979, women have been forced to cover their hair according to Islamic law on modesty. »

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, which went into the London Critics' Circle Film Awards in the lead with seven nominations, went home with a trio of gongs on Sunday night in the British capital.

The dark comedy claimed the film of the year prize, plus actress of the year for Frances McDormand and scriptwriter of the year for its director and writer Martin McDonagh.

The London Critics' Circle honors closed with Kate Winslet being presented with the Dilys Powell Award for excellence in film, which was given to her by her Holiday co-star Jude Law. »
