Oh and just to clear one thing up: he didn't pull the bird from a web, the bird had just flown through the web and crash landed. It couldn't get its wings going, so my dad picked it up and cleared off the web (though you can still see a bit in the pic). I asked him about the spider and he said he didn't see it, so either the hummingbird took it out, or it went to go rebuild its web. There aren't any huge spiders where he lives, so I don't think he stole the spiders meal, or at least that's the version of the story I'm going with!
