Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith will curate and produce Black Panther: The Album, the soundtrack for Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther film. The album will feature music from and inspired by the movie, including Kendrick’s new collaboration with SZA, “All the Stars.” Kendrick was chosen for the project by director Ryan Coogler, who said in a press release, “I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can't wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store.”
Kendrick added, “Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.” Top Dawg commented, “Working on such a powerful movie is a great opportunity. We’re always working on new goals at TDE, so teaming up with Disney, Marvel Studios and the Black Panther film makes perfect sense.”
Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, and the soundtrack is due out February 9. According to a press release, it marks the “first time in Marvel Cinematic Universe history that Marvel Studios will integrate multiple original recordings created specifically for the film.” A tracklist for the soundtrack has yet to be announced. My high school had a hip hop literature class where they studied kendrick's music. And to our surprise Kendrick's people got contact with our school and he actually came to listen to our interpretations of his music. He was very kind to perform a little afterwards.
The teacher had his own blog that kinda gained popularity and bam yea. This link will have his blog and a video of the whole thing
