This font is built in on all the newer Kindle models, it's pretty cool.
That said, I teach people with severe dyslexia, and not a single person has reported that this font makes reading easier. I don't doubt it worked for Christian Boer, and I haven't read any of the research about it, but I've yet to hear it helped for anyone else with the diagnosis among my students.
EDIT: I just realized that the opendyslexic and dyslexie fonts are two entirely different fonts. Apparently the dyslexie one(the one in this post) was first, and the open source one (the one in Kindles) sparked some controversy:
The release of OpenDyslexic caused some controversy as Gonzalez received a “cease and desist” order from Boer claiming copyright infringement. Other sources describing the dispute can be found here and here. Despite these potential setbacks and controversy, both Dyslexie and OpenDyslexic are widely being used with praise from their respective users.
Dyslexic person here, reading this while on an elliptical, I now want this for my default phone font.
Edit to quantify this, I normally get sick reading while doing cardio and limit myself to reddit pictures / instagram - I read this and didn’t really process I had read anything it was so easy.
