We have switched back and forth to each others’ health insurance a few times, trying to maintain stability for our family.

But we’re so busy defending our position, that we don’t talk enough about what a different world could look like.

But it’s worth trying, for the glimmer of hope and the shot of positive energy it can give us.

But when I think about the concept of universal health care, I see a doorway to more freedom.

It allows us to ask the big questions: If you had guaranteed access to decent health care, what would you do differently with your life?

That revolution in reproductive health care made the same kind of sea-change for them that universal health coverage could do for women now.

That’s why it’s crazy to me when people act like government involvement in health care would mean less freedom. »

Monsanto banned from European parliament

Monsanto lobbyists have been banned from entering the European parliament after the multinational refused to attend a parliamentary hearing into allegations of regulatory interference.

Monsanto officials will now be unable to meet MEPs, attend committee meetings or use digital resources on parliament premises in Brussels or Strasbourg.

A Monsanto letter to MEPs seen by the Guardian said that the European parliament was not “an appropriate forum” for discussion on the issues involved. »

DNA surgery on embryos removes disease

Precise "chemical surgery" has been performed on human embryos to remove disease in a world first, Chinese researchers have told the BBC.

Base editing alters the fundamental building blocks of DNA: the four bases adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine.

The experiments were performed in tissues taken from a patient with the blood disorder and in human embryos made through cloning. »

Archaeologists Find Lost Ancient Greek Temple Of Goddess Artemis

It took more than 100 years of searching but archaeologists have finally found a lost temple to the ancient Greek goddess Artemis.

But the culture ministry said the temple to Artemis was actually found 60 stades away from Eretria, or about 6.8 miles.

The culture ministry refers to the recently rediscovered temple as being dedicated to Artemis Amarysia, with the second name being a sort of adopted surname of the goddess. »
