Aims to tackle climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emission and promoting sustainable farming.

LONDON — Chocolate giant Mars is promising to spend close to $1 billion over the next few years fighting climate change.

Barry Parkin, Mars' chief sustainability officer, told Business Insider: "We've been increasingly worried about overall progress on the big issues, whether that's climate change or solving poverty.

"There are obviously commitments the world is leaning into but, frankly, we don't think we're getting there fast enough collectively.

'We believe in the scientific view of climate science and the need for collective action'.

You have to completely change the way you operate your business and you have to completely change how you source your products.".

Everything we invest over the next few years has to be in pursuit of becoming a truly sustainable business. »

Speaking to schoolchildren about AI on Sept. 1, Putin declared, "Whoever becomes the leader in this area will rule the world."

Competition for AI superiority at national level most likely cause of WW3 imo. »

Authored by mccain.senate.gov

Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) today are submitting a brief with the Supreme Court in a case that could address wildly partisan gerrymandering of political districts and loosen the grip of special interests on American politics.

In their friend-of-the-court brief, the senators describe the effects of hyper-partisan redistricting and special interest influence in Washington, and call on the Court to adopt a new standard for assessing the constitutionality of partisan gerrymandering.

It is up to the Supreme Court, the senators write, to use that roadmap to protect Americans’ constitutional rights. »
