A team of computer scientists and electrical engineers at the University of Washington has invented a cellphone that requires no batteries and harvests power from either ambient radio signals or light.

This process consumes so much energy that it’s been impossible to design a phone that can rely on ambient power sources.

This process essentially encodes speech patterns in reflected radio signals in a way that uses almost no power. »

PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said he was hopeful that U.S. President Donald Trump would reverse his decision to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord, according to weekly newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche (JDD) on Sunday.

Trump has said the Paris accord is soft on leading polluters like China and India, putting U.S. industry at risk. »
