The majority of Staten Islanders polled disapproved of the job Trump was doing as president.

STATEN ISLAND — President Donald Trump is losing support in the only New York City borough where the majority of voters backed him during the presidential election, a new poll found.

Four percent of those polled in the most recent survey responded they didn't know if he was doing a good job.

Despite the numbers, some of his biggest supporters here said they're still standing behind the president.

Staten Island residents made up 7 percent of the weighted sample with an 11.32 percent margin of error, according to the university.

Still Trump won the majority of voted in the borough with 95,612 voters, or 57 percent, supporting him.

"Staten Islanders, they are independent and they will turn on a candidate that fails," Michael Arvanites, president of the North Shore Democratic Club, previously told DNAinfo New York. »

Nevada becomes 8th state to ban conversion therapy

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has signed a bill prohibiting mental health professionals from subjecting children under 18 to conversion therapy.

“Conversion therapy has been disavowed by medical experts and is considered a non-effective method of treatment that can cause harm to an adolescent.

With Sandoval’s signature, Nevada becomes the eighth state to ban conversion therapy, following California, New Jersey, Oregon, Illinois, Vermont, New Mexico, and Connecticut, which banned the practice last week. »
