Elon Musk’s giant tunnel boring machine arrived at SpaceX – first pictures

With the recent launch of Elon Musk’s latest company, Neuralink, we almost forgot that the CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX also recently launched yet another startup: the Boring Company.

The startup recently took delivery of its first giant boring machine.

In February, Musk was looking at purchasing a used Herrenknecht boring machine: about 26 feet in diameter, about 400 feet long, and weighs 1,200 tons.

It’s not clear if it’s the same machine that has just arrived at SpaceX’s headquarters in Hawthorne, California, but it is certainly similar in size.

The boring machine arrived yesterday and is being positioned in SpaceX’s parking lot where they have already been digging a hole in the ground.

There, they will be able to experiment with new digging technologies build on the current boring machine.

While the Boring Company is digging its first tunnel at SpaceX, Musk said that the company is not a subsidiary of Tesla or SpaceX, but its own independent company. »

Psych Movie Reportedly In Development

Psych, the long-running USA Network TV series, will reportedly be shooting a movie this summer in Vancouver and San Francisco -- and unlike previous similar rumors, this one seems real.

A Production Weekly entry says a feature film called Psych is shooting beginning in May, and that kicked internet speculation into high gear.

It coincides with a recent convention panel in which recurring antagonist Cary Elwes told an audience in Indiana that he planned to be filming a Psych movie this summer. »

A new fitness class could be hitting Glasgow soon - and it's a right old snoozefest.

David Lloyd Clubs, which has centres in the west end and Rouken Glen, is trialling the innovative new workout which consists of nothing but climbing into a bed and SLEEPING for 45 minutes.

Primarily a wellbeing class aimed at exhausted parents, the benefits include regenerating the mind, body and even burning the odd calorie. »

First global simulation yields new insights into ring system

This is the first time an entire ring system has been simulated using accurate sizes for the ring particles as well as considering collisions and gravitational interactions between the particles.

There is a possibility that the ring particles are much smaller than speculated or that a concealed shepherd satellite around Chariklo is stabilizing the ring.

Their results indicate that the density of the ring particles must be less than half the density of Chariklo itself. »
