After months of delays, the New York City Police Department issued its proposal to outfit its entire force with body cameras.

Once approved by its court-appointed monitor, it will dictate how officers will be required to use the cameras.

The proposal outlines when the cameras should be used, and how the resulting footage will be stored and accessed.

The results were amazing: teen births and abortions dropped by nearly 50%, and the birth-rate among teens who were already mothers fell by 58%; there were also dramatic reductions in high-risk births.

After implementation of the Colorado Family Planning Initiative, teen births and abortions dropped by nearly half.

The cannon could become the next Texas symbol in state known for lax gun control laws, as lawmakers also consider selecting a state handgun and state knife.

And soon, Texas may have an explosive addition to its set of official symbols: plans are afoot for a state gun.

But a resolution to make the cannon the official state gun passed through a senate committee hearing on Thursday, the first step to the plan becoming law.

Because next to this peculiar roadside statue is something that should absolutely not be missed: a vending machine stocked with full-sized homemade pecan pies.

Both the squirrel statue and pie vending machine belong to the nearby Berdoll Pecan Farm, whose pecan pies were in such high demand the business put in a 24-hour vending machine to satisfy pie-lovers ‘round the clock.
